Four torpedo tubes gave the stern end of Cavalla a mighty punch. The after torpedomen slept in this compartment on racks between the torpedoes. There was a friendly competition between the forward torpedo gang and the aft torpedo gang concerning who could get their fish into the most ships. In Cavalla's case, the forward gang edged out a win.
